I searched for Killing Lincoln and got 3 results. There are 1,775 libraries worldwide that have the book. The top library is the library I work at, Alexander Mitchell Public Library, followed by other South Dakota libraries. The call number is Dewey: 973.7092 or LC: E457.5. When I clicked on the author's name, I got 264 results for Bill O'Reilly. The subject of Abraham Lincoln came up with 2,902 results. There is also more information about the book including number of pages, language, publisher, year, ISBN, OCLC number, abstract. You can also search for versions with the same title and author.
I wasn't overly impressed with the OIAster database. When I did a search for South Dakota, I got 764 results. The first item I looked at was Dreams and Dust in the Black Hills. This is a college dissertation and when you go to access the paper, you have to log in to UNM Lobo Vault. So then I tried to open The Gorge of the Missouri, but the page could not be found. Then I chose the Letter from Sinclair Lewis to Marcella Powers. This letter from May 15, 1942 described Sioux Falls as "a roaring metropolis of 34,000". The session times out after fifteen minutes. There were also lots of older photos (some with access links that didn't work). The ones that I could get to were from the Denver Public Library Digital Collection.
From looking at other blogs, it seems everyone has used WorldCat for interlibrary loans.
Thanks for your work here, Librena. OAIster is for serious researchers, and unfortunately not all of the access links are kept up. But sometimes, when there's nowhere else to look, this will do the trick. Thanks for your comments.
