Using ArchiveGrid, I learned that the Sitting Bull autograph card is part of the Native American Collection at Cornell University Library. Keeping with the Ghost Dance theme, I searched for Wounded Knee Massacre. I got 23 results including photographs (Wisconsin Historical Society), scrapbooks (Cornell University Library), and correspondence (Museum of the American West). I found it interesting that the only South Dakota location was the Ogalala Lakota College Library. They have 20 printed materials relating to the Wounded Knee Massacre. This resource would be helpful for serious researchers since it is just a collection description and you would have to contact the archivists for further access.
Using CAMIO, I found teaspoons, sugar bowls, a tea service, a goblet, and a tankard that were made by Paul Revere. My favorite piece was the two handled bowl (c.1785). It was interesting to learn that the tea service at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts is the most complete Revere service to survive intact, and it has 1 of only 2 known tea caddies made by Revere. I got 63 results from searching for Sioux. There were a variety of items including sculpture, books, paintings, photographs, costume and jewelry. For an artist, I searched Claude Monet and got 102 works. I like how some of the items have detailed descriptions to go along with the image. This resource would be great for art or history students. I would have loved to known about this in college for my art history courses. Since I collect Early American Pattern Glass, I did a search for pattern glass and selected a few to add to favorites. This is a very helpful way to view and compare selected images.
