ArchiveGrid & CAMIO

1. The papers of Theodore Schultz are located at Iowa State University. I learned that he was involved in the "oleomargarine controversy" in 1943 and resigned his position at Iowa State in protest. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1979.

 2. I first searched for Charles Dickens. There were two paintings and one photograph that allowed you to see how Charles Dickens himself dressed. Also from that search, I found out that he lived from 1812-1870. From there I tried many searches with different combinations of the words "English”,” England", "dress", "fashion", "clothing", "London" and "Victorian". Some of the helpful results were a fashion plate from "The English Woman's Domestic Magazine" (1860), a frock coat from 1835, a ball gown from 1872, an English necklace from 1867, and a photograph of an unknown woman with a striped dress from 1845.
